CC Ecology is directed by Claire Clarke BSc (Hons) ACIEEM and Matthew Clarke BSc (Hons), both experienced ecologists.  

Claire has particular expertise in protected species. She is a licensed bat and Great Crested Newt ecologist with a wealth of experience in undertaking surveys for protected species, designing suitable and innovative mitigation strategies and successfully gaining European Protected Species Licences for bats on a variety of projects and for a range of species. Claire has a good sound knowledge of the planning system, all aspects of ecology and can provide practical advice on a variety of ecological issues.

Matthew is involved in all aspects of protected species work, with a particular expertise in reptile ecology.  His expert knowledge gives a thorough foundation to practical implementation of projects.  He leads the role as Ecological Clerk of Works for the company, is able to co-ordinate and undertake a variety of field ecology roles and is very experienced in habitat creation and management.

Matthew also holds survey licenses for Bats, Great Crested Newt and Smooth Snake.

CC Ecology employs a range of skilled and highly trained associates to provide ecological survey support and specialist advice. All of our associates are fully qualified ecologists, with relevant survey licences.
